Can the race be run in teams?
All participants must register individually but may compete as a team. For example, if you are unable to complete your 20 burpees at an obstacle, your teammate could do some of them for you.

Is food available?
We will have Food Trucks and beer garden will be open! For safety and insurance purposes, racers will not be permitted in the beer garden prior to starting the race. However, afterwards we invite you to stay and cheer on fellow participants.

What if a participant is unable to complete an obstacle?
20 burpees must be completed before continuing on with the Hearth ATTACK.

OR, you may purchase a “By-Pass”.  Each “By- Pass” is $5 and there is no limit to how many you can purchase. However, if you use a “By-Pass”, you will not qualify for the fastest time competition.

What is a burpee?
A burpee is a combination of a jumping jack followed by a push up.  WATCH HERE.

What is the cost?
Early Bird Pricing!  May 2- $60.
Price change July 4th-$70
Price change August 1- $80

Why can't I bring my younger children to the event?
Due to the nature of the event there is no area for children to stay.  There is no spectator viewing area and there is limited space in the concession and beer garden area.  For insurance reasons we must also ensure that there are no unsupervised children at the event site.  We thank you for understanding.

What type of obstacles should a participant expect?
Examples may include obstacles like jumping over a small ditch or climbing a 8 foot wall. Exact obstacles will not be disclosed in order to maintain an element of surprise. You'll just have to find out on your own...

What will proceeds go toward?
WEST _COUNTRY HEARTH (a seniors' assisted-living complex in West Sturgeon) - www.westcountryhearth.ca

What should participants wear?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing that may get dirty or torn.  Layers are best in case of changes in weather. Proper footwear is required; no open toes or sandals. Long pants or socks may help to protect legs. Be prepared to shake some sand out of your shoes!

Is a credit card needed for registration?

Is the race weather dependent?
No. The Hearth ATTACK will be on, rain or shine! So dress appropriately!

Where can belongings be stored during the race?
Belongings should be locked in vehicles.

Are there any prizes?
Recognition will be given to participants with the top times in age and gender groups. A prize will be awarded to the participant with the most dollars pledged. There is also a prize for team spirit!

Is there anything to do after the race?
After the race a concession and beer garden will be open. For safety and insurance purposes, racers will not be permitted in the beer garden prior to starting the race. However, afterwards we invite you to stay and cheer on fellow participants. Presentation of prizes and awards is at approximately 2 pm.

What time should I be at the race and what should I bring?
Arrive at the site 45 minutes before your designated race time. This will allow time for parking and registration prior to the start of your heat. Along with appropriate clothing, bring a water bottle, bug repellent, sunscreen and money as there will be food and beverages available for purchase.

What facilities are at the site?
Portable toilets are available on site and bottled water can be purchased. There is one water station midway through the race but no running water is available.
